According to BCSP, certificants must demonstrate continued professional competence by earning recertification points every five-year cycle. At least 0.5 points (5 hours) of these points is required in Ethics for all BCSP credential holders.

  • CSP, SMP, ASP: 25 recertification points (250 hours) every five years
  • OHST, CHST, CIT: 20 recertification points (200 hours) every five years (CIT must also earn at least 2.8 points [28 hours] specifically in teaching, developing, or attending courses on instructional techniques)
  • STS, STSC: 3 recertification points (30 hours) every five years

Educational programs from All Safety CE qualify under BCSP Category 7: Safety-Related Courses, Seminars, and Educational Programs. There is no limit to the number of recertification points you can earn in this category.
