- Accurately assess worker noise exposure using time-weighted averages (TWA), exposure dose calculations, and variable task modeling.
- Interpret and apply regulatory limits from OSHA, NIOSH, and ACGIH, including permissible exposure limits and threshold limit values.
- Implement and evaluate engineering and administrative noise controls using the hierarchy of controls.
- Properly apply and de-rate Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR) of hearing protection devices to reflect real-world performance.
- Identify common miscalculations in exposure assessments and use field-proven techniques to correct them.
